This one-off machine was created in 2007 by Rocky Cutsforth and crew at Rox Speed FX, in conjunction with Arctic Cat. This was built up just as Arctic Cat was introducing their all-new 951cc Minnesota-built v-twin monster engine that came to be known as the 1000. The new engine made its first production appearance in the 2008 Thundercat ATV which mostly paralleled our other full-size ATVs in the line up. When this concept model was being imagined it was decided that there could be some advantages in muddy terrain to having the new 1000 V-twin engine in a chassis with a longer wheelbase, some high clearance a-arms and oversize tires. This was originally built with 32x10x14 Silverback tires, as shown in the earliest images of this (and we still have). This concept model was very much a success and Arctic Cat quickly added the Mud Pro 1000 to the line-up just 2 short years later. This landmark machine spent time at various Arctic Cat displays and events. When Mike Poolman wasnt working his day job within Arctic Engineering, he and his crew from Cash Performance were tweaking this machine and competing with it (and many other Arctic Cat machines too) in mud racing events all across the US. Mike engineered and adapted the portal drives that are on this today and added the 35" x 20" tires that are on it today too.
